In a PPC campaign, landing pages can be very effective if done correctly – and they do not have to cost a lot of money. Thorough keyword research will be needed in order to help you avoid unnecessary broadmatch terms that are not likely to lead to click conversions.

By allowing your PPC campaign to include broadmatch terms, you will certainly draw more traffic – but it will not necessarily be targeted traffic that is buying. This feature should either be turned off, or you need to do enough research to decide which negative terms you need to include – so as not to waste your marketing budget in a hurry.

Remember, too, that turning off broadmatch for one or two terms may still allow the search engines to include the terms turned off if it is a close enough match. Only negative keywords can eliminate them.

As with any PPC campaign, you need to continually watch it, adjust it, or even turn it off if you discover the algorithms have changed. Be sure to run small tests to make sure that you actually receive the CTR you are looking for.
